Dr. Kaveh Farhoomand
Mountain Shadows is pleased to welcome Dr. Kaveh Farhoomand to its Board of Directors. Dr. Farhoomand is a physician in private practice specializing in internal medicine.
Kaveh received his MD from the Western University of Health Sciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in 2000. The University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine was recognized by U.S. News & World Report as the most selective private osteopathic medical school in the nation. Following graduation, he completed his residency at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic, which U.S. News & World Report ranked among the top three hospitals in the United States. The Clinic’s Cardiac Hospital has been named #1 in the world for the last 12 consecutive years. The Cleveland Clinic is a multi-specialty academic medical center that integrates clinical and hospital care with research and education. Founded in 1921, the clinic’s vision is to put the patient first by providing outstanding patient care based upon the principles of cooperation, compassion and innovation. Kaveh is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Kaveh has been in private practice for three years. For the past two of his three years in practice, he has been named one of the Top Doctors in San Diego by the San Diego County Medical Society (SDCMS). This is a peer-selected award which honors the top 5% of physicians in the County. These “Top Doctors” have been identified by their peers as physicians to whom they would entrust the care of their own family members and their own patients.
Dr. Farhoomand is the Chief of Internal Medicine at Tri-City Medical Center. He is also affiliated with Scripps Hospital in Encinitas. As a member of the Internal Medicine, Bio-Ethics, and Critical Care Committees, Kaveh is instrumental in setting the highest standards for overall patient care.
Kaveh chose to go into private practice because it allows him to provide his patients with a high-level of personalized care. He is dedicated to putting the patient first and welcomes the opportunity to benefit the well-being of our residents and the Mountain Shadows Community as a member of the Board of Directors.
