Robert Chakarian

Treasurer

Mr. Chakarian is a founder and president of Chakarian & Associates, CPAs Inc., a California corporation. Chakarian & Associates provides individual, partnership and corporation tax planning and preparation, accounting services, management advisory and consulting services and retirement planning.

Mr. Chakarian has over 15 years of experience in the public accounting field. He has been the CPA for Mountain Shadows Community Homes for the past decade and currently provides various services to the Mountain Shadows Support Group (MSSG) organization, in addition to serving as Corporate Treasurer of MSSG. Mr. Chakarian has been actively involved and has chaired or co-chaired several times MSSG’s annual golf classic held each year to raise funds for the residents of Mountain Shadows. He became involved when he realized how special the organization was compared to other organizations he had been involved with early in his accounting career.

Mr. Chakarian is a member of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He also currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Children’s Dental Health Association (CDHA) in San Diego. The CDHA operates an outreach program to educate and screen children in schools in low-income areas and operates a dental clinic in the Golden Hill area of San Diego for the children of low-income families. As part of his past service he served a three-year term on the Pacific Beach Planning Committee. During his term the community adopted a master plan and made many improvements to the community with the cooperation of the San Diego City Council and the residents of the community. He did not seek to be reelected to a third term in order to devote more time to charitable causes.

Mr. Chakarian has many years of lecture experience as mentor to college students majoring in accounting and business, as a professional to other accountants, and as an advisor to high net worth individuals and physicians. He published a quarterly newsletter, The Examiner, which is mailed to a select group of San Diego County physicians to update them on changing tax laws and other financial opportunities.

Mr. Chakarian graduated with a degree in accounting from Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania. He attained part of his education through the extended studies program at San Diego State University. Shippensburg University’s business program is well known in Pennsylvania and is accredited by the Association of Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. He is a Certified Public Accountant and licensed to practice in the state of California through the State Board of Accountancy.
