Mountain Shadows Community Homes San Diego
Tapping the Human Spirit
Nestled in the foothills of San Diego’s North County, Mountain Shadows Community Homes is comprised of eighteen individually licensed homes for the developmentally disabled (Intermediate Care Facility for the Developmentally Disabled – Habilitative ICF DD/H). Sixteen of our homes are situated on five sprawling acres located in Escondido; the remaining two community-based homes are located in the heart of San Marcos. Each home is designed to foster a family environment to encourage the growth and independence of our residents.
The mission of Mountain Shadows Community Homes is to provide the best possible environment for our residents to achieve maximum independence and improved self-esteem through the superior habilitation, training, and support systems.
At Mountain Shadows, we believe that by enriching the lives of our residents we enrich ourselves. Our staff inspires residents to go beyond what has been accomplished and take on new challenges. We tap the indomitable human spirit – and transform residents’ accomplishments into mutual fulfillment. At Mountain Shadows Community Homes, our employees often say, “It’s not just a job- it’s a life.”
